Mānoa Falls
Town Side
This hike is a great way to soak in Oahu's lush beauty and is perfect for those who want to explore without tackling anything too intense. It’s a short trek through a vibrant rainforest that leads to a 150-foot waterfall. Heads up: You cannot swim, and it’s a popular trail, so it can get a bit crowded, especially on weekends and holidays. But trust us, it’s an excellent introduction to hiking on island. Length: 1.6 miles round trip (about 45 minutes to 1 hour). Difficulty: Easy to moderate (it can get slippery when wet). Parking: Paid parking is available at the trailhead (around $7 per car). Limited street parking is an option, but you may have to walk a bit to reach the start. Trail Conditions: Bring shoes you don’t mind getting muddy—rain showers happen often in the valley. What to Bring: Bug spray, water, sunscreen, and a lightweight rain jacket. Crowds: The trail is popular, so plan to start early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the busiest times. Safety Tip: Please stick to the marked trail! Climbing near the waterfall is prohibited due to falling rock hazards.
