Waimānalo Beach

East Side

Located on the windward side of Oahu, Waimanalo Beach has a stunning stretch of supper soft fine white sand and calm, turquoise waters. Perfect for relaxing with the kids or taking a relaxing stroll. There tend to be fewer crowds, so it is nice if you need some time away from town. While on that side, you can check out how large the waves are at Sandies (Sandy Beach) and Makapu'u Beach. In the summer, the sweets are high, and it’s fun to take a stretch and see the body surfers while heading back to town. Although Waimanalo is typically calmer, make sure to keep an eye on the kids.

  • Best Time to Visit: Morning or early afternoon for the best sunlight and fewer winds.

  • Safety: Look out for beach conditions; while generally calm, occasional shore breaks can occur.

  • Amenities: Restrooms, showers, and picnic areas available.

  • Nearby Eats: Local favorites like Ono Steaks and Shrimp Shack or Kalapawai Cafe for a post-beach treat.
